Cellulitis is a skin infection caused by bacteria. My daughter has had it twice now! The first time she got it she was bitten by a spider. Just recently a mean mosquito attacked her in the car while on a drive to my orthodontist. It bit her three times, knee, neck, and under the eye. Mylie's skin is very sensitive and when she gets any type of bite it turns into something nasty. We are talking within hours. So, after a restless night, even with benadryl and ointments we headed to Mylie's Doc, Dr. England. It was awful. The visit was just awful. Because the infection was so aggressive and because she had a bite to the face this time she had to get a shot in her booty. The shot was Rocephin. NOT A FUN ANTIBIOTIC. It is a fairly thick medication and has to be administered with a BIG THICK NEEDLE. It burns, bruises and hopefully gets rid of the infection. I cried, Mylie cried and well we were a mess for about ten minutes. It is so hard to see my child have to go thru pain. Cellulitis is painful already. The infected area becomes very hot to the touch, swells and turns very red. Mylie could barely walk yesterday. BUT because we had planned the pumpkin patch all week, and with the permission of Dr. England we went later that day. ( will post that soon). In the meantime Mylie is on antibiotics and ointments. She is such a little trooper. Love you My My. Hope and Pray you feel better my LOVE. Love, Mommy

(Can you guess which knee it is?)

Poor thing! Hope the trip to the pumpkin patch helped make up for it.
